2023 Small Arts Grants Fund
The Small Arts Grants Fund continues to be a catalyst for change for many locally based, grass roots arts organizations and non-arts organizations with arts programming. With grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, 41 organizations in 2023 received funds totaling $250,000.
These include a general operating support grant of $10,000 to Community Housing of Wyandotte County (CHWC, Inc.) for Arts Programming.
Other organizations, such as Westport Center for the Arts and the Kansas Academy of Theatrical Arts, Inc. received grants for $8,500 each. The Children’s Place, Lyrik’s Institution, Base Academy of Music, and Comprehensive arts Institute were among several first-time grantees to take advantage of the grants fund.
Other deserving organizations with grass roots arts programming included, Band of Angels, Storling Dance Theater, No Divide KC and Stone Lion Puppets.
